Victorian Fair Trade Festival Program
Message from Susy
This edition is all about what is happening during the Fair Trade Fortnight in 2014
The reason why we celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight is because it is a great opportunity to show support for an international trading system that is based on transparency and respect. It's about celebrating the successes of the many enterprises that have gone down the path of trading ethically, have helped producers and farmers around the world to create sustainable and thriving communities.
The ethical business is ultimately driven by its social outcomes. When you ask a fair trade business what they are all about, you will be flooded with stories of how many communities they have helped, how many women they have managed to employ and train, how they have managed to open a school, it is never about how much money they have made.
It's these stories and the passionate people behind them that are to be celebrated, they provide a great path for the enterprises of the future and are a constant inspiration to people like me and those seeking for better and more sustainable ways of doing business (Director, Moral Fairground)
Imagine the socially sustainable future we could all create – in 2014 Victorians can lead the way in Australia!
