Welcome to the newsletter everyone!

I hope those of you on the other side of the world are enjoying summer. Over on this side, we're shivering - winter's definitely arrived with a vengeance!

However, I'll be lucky enough to taste a little bit of summer when I head over to Anaheim in a couple of weeks for the RWA conference. I hope to see some of you at the Literacy Signing on July 25th! (Full details later on in the newsletter).

I also have news about next year's Psy/Changeling anthology for you, an exclusive excerpt from Archangel's Storm, and information about the Archangel's Storm ARC Contest.

France - Mine to Possess

Psi-Changeling, T4 : Mienne pour Toujours (22 Juin, 2012)

Wild Invitation: A Psy/Changeling Collection

...will release March 5th, 2013!!

This anthology will include two previously published novellas:

Beat of Temptation (Nate & Tamsyn)
Link to excerpt

Stroke of Enticement (Zach & Annie)
Link to excerpt

and two brand new novellas. The first novella will feature drum roll please...Cooper and Grace! This was a fun and intriguing novella to write, as Cooper is a Lieutenant, while Grace is one of the most submissive wolves in SnowDancer. As such, their dynamic is unlike any other.

I'm currently working on the second novella, and it's going to be something a little different. Set in the time between Kiss of Snow and Tangle of Need, it'll give us an intimate insight into Lara and Walker's mating, as well as featuring the immediate aftermath of the events in Kiss of Snow.

(The two new novellas will also be available later as separate ebooks. )

Appearances: Anaheim

"Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing
Wednesday, July 25, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom (third floor).
Full details here!

Entry to this signing is free, so do drop by if you're in the area.

The authors won't be seated in alphabetical order this year - but you'll get a map when you arrive, so you can easily find the authors you're looking for. I won't be in the central section, but off to the side, so very easy to spot!

Because the signing is for charity, they're not allowing in any outside books. I know many of you will have already bought the books on sale, so feel free to come by and just say hi. I'll also have some fun goodies at the table - including booklets with a four-chapter excerpt of Archangel's Storm.

Appearances: Auckland

I've had some questions about whether I'll be doing a signing in Auckland to launch Archangel's Storm in September. I'm happy to share that we're working on something. More info in the August newsletter!

German Tour

I had a wonderful time at the Love Letter Convention and during my German book tour in June. Thank you to all of you who attended the events!

I haven't yet put up all the photos from my travels in Germany and Eastern Europe, but you can see a few snapshots here (scroll down past the India photos).

My German publisher, Lyx, has also posted a number of shots from the book tour on their Facebook page.

Exclusive Extra: Archangel's Storm

A brand new excerpt! I hope you enjoy!

I'd like to request this not be copied and posted online. If you'd like to share the excerpt with friends, please send them this link to the full newsletter. Thanks!

Excerpt from ARCHANGEL'S STORM
Releasing September 2012

Now, rising from his low, crouched position, he once again timed his movements to avoid the guards and reached the glittering door of the palace without being seen.
The guard who opened it in response to his knock hissed in surprise and went for a weapon.

“I assume that is the spymaster,” said a feminine voice from within, the language the principal dialect in this region. “Do come in, Jason.”

Keeping the guard in his line of sight, Jason walked into the glimmering illusion of the palace to see the Queen of Poisons, of Snakes. Unlike when she’d spoken with Raphael, Neha was now the picture of grace where she sat on a thronelike chair, her body clothed in a sari of palest green rather than the stark white of mourning. She, like the rest of the room, shimmered with the candlelight bouncing off the endless cascade of faceted gemstones.

“Lady Neha.” He swept down into a respectful bow that nonetheless made it clear he was no sycophant and never would be. He’d learned the elegant movement from Illium, and it came in useful on the rare occasion when he had to make a public appearance in front of one of the Cadre.

“You surprise me.”

Greeting complete, he met the penetrating brown of her gaze, conscious of the fine emerald-hued snake she wore as a living bracelet. “Did you expect a savage?” he asked in the same dialect, having long ago learned the dominant languages of the world—including variations used in the home territories of the Cadre. Secrets, after all, had no one language.

Lips painted a sedate blush curved. “You do give that impression.” Rising from her heavily carved chair of black marble, the carvings inlaid with gold, she came down the three steps to a floor covered by a hand-knotted silk carpet the shade of sapphires under sunlight.

When he didn’t offer her his arm, she raised an imperious eyebrow.

“I need both arms free to fight.”

Neha’s laugh was delicate . . . hiding a shrill note beneath. “So honest, but then that is a clever lie, is it not? A spymaster can never give everything away.”

Jason said nothing, having no interest in playing this particular game.

“Come,” she said with a gleaming smile that held the appreciation of an immortal who rarely lost a battle of wits, and who had only shot her first volley, “it’s time to meet the one to whom you will swear fealty in blood. All is in readiness for the ceremony.”
