From the Osmonds and Monkees in the 1960's all the way to the Jonas Brothers and Westlife more recently, Boy Bands have played an important role in English-language pop music, setting style and dance trends and breaking the hearts of teenage girls across the planet.
Boy Band songs are typically romantic and fairly easy to understand even for non-native English speakers, making them a great way to practice your English listening and comprehension skills. This musical phenomenon seemed to be on a downward trend at the end of the past decade, but now new bands from Britain and the U.S. have taken over the pop charts once more. This weekend on English Attack! we feature two such bands, One Direction and JLS. You may even find yourself singing along with them!
