Marching for Justice
Placed at the bottom of India's caste Hindu society, Dalit women have been targets of violence, discrimination and untouchability. Everyday we lose, not just, lives and limbs, but the core of our souls .. our self respect which is brutally crushed. This has to end.
All India Dalit Mahila Adhikar Manch initiated a month long yatra that has travelled hundreds of kilometres across several states of India with the aim of organising the community & resisting violence of all forms on Dalit women.
This yatra has tremendously galvanised young people to pay heed to the words of Dr. B.R Ambedkar who said " . . . With great difficulty, I have brought this caravan where it is seen today. Let the Caravan march on and further on despite the hurdles, pitfalls and difficulties that may come in its way. If my people, my lieutenants are not able to take the caravan ahead, they should leave it where it is seen today, but in no circumstances should they allow the caravan to go back."
