Greetings & Happy New Year!

May 2013 bring you and your loved ones joy, happiness, and health. Let love guide you for the year. We love you as love loves you.

The new album "Ici Bas" is almost here! We have a sneak peak for you in this newsletter (see below). We're looking forward to the launch on February 22nd!! We are blessed to have some extremely talented Canadian friends join Kalimba Kalimba on this recording including Jane Bunnett, Larry Cramer, George Koller, Ken Whiteley, Pat O'Gorman, Paul Neufeld, Sahara Sloan, and Colin Doroschuk. We extend gratitude to OAC and all of the artists who contributed their time and talents to make this dream a reality.

Njacko is really looking forward to heading back into schools in 2013! He will be bringing his music, dancing and stories to students in Brampton, Newmarket, London, Mississauga, Burlington, and the GTA. Much of Njacko's work in the schools happens with Mariposa in the Schools, and they are having their annual fundraiser this February (more details below).

In the coming weeks, we will be uploading some new videos that just arrived from Cameroon! The videos show the projects that many of you have supported over the past 3 years at Ecole St. Albert Le Grand in Bazou. We are so proud of all of the work that the school and community have accomplished together. We just learned that the school enrolment has increased by about 100 students since the project began! The school has hired more teachers, and the school community is strengthening and really coming together. We thank all of you who are supporting this project, it wouldn't be possible without you! Look for the videos to be posted on the project blog by January 15th.

Blessings,
Njacko and Val

Benefit Concert for MITS & Echo Women's Choir

As many of you know, Njacko has been working with Mariposa in the Schools (MITS) for about 15 years. MITS introduces Ontario young people to world oral cultural traditions, reaching 50 school communities each year with a repertoire of world music, dance, storytelling, spoken word and puppetry.

MITS is a registered Canadian charity. Their annual fundraising campaign ensures that under-resourced communities have access to our programs.
