It is Communion time and we have had quite a few portrait sessions. First Communion is a once in a lifetime event and it deserves to be captured in beautiful photos. Now that spring is popping we will be doing a lot of outside sessions as well. It is a very special time in a child’s life, and I love to capture the fun outdoor activities as well as those special moments, like First Communion.
It is easy in the transition from spring to summer to feel the need to update your child’s wardrobe, because lets face it, we love it when our kids look cute! But sometimes, it feels like back-to-school shopping because the spending never ends. Really, all your kids need are a few simple and versatile new pieces to create that summer wardrobe!
Start with the tops. A few new solid colored shirts and maybe a jean jacket can be mixed up to create tons of new looks that never go out of style! Instead of the flashy, blinged-out butterfly top, opt for the colorful V-neck or the simple nautical stripes. These styles tend to stay trendy, and can be layered during the colder months so you won’t have any regrets.

Turn all your gadgets off and just be there for someone. Really listen to what they have to say and try to think how it makes them feel. Don’t be too quick to offer advice unless it’s asked for. Most people just want to be heard, not told. 3. Make their day. This is a fantastic way to really connect with others. Find what makes others smile, laugh, or just feel good. Then repeat day after day.
