PHOTOVILLE IS 2 WEEKS AWAY!

Dear Friends!

The containers have started started arriving, and in just two weeks the Photoville gates open for all to visit! Our photo village celebrates community and we'd like to highlight a few great ways for you to really get involved in building Photoville - from opportunities to exhibit your photography to volunteering at Photoville!

You have till midnight to submit for SLIDELUCK's multi-media screening curated by TIME Magazine's Director of Photography - Kira Pollack. The East River Ferry announces Drawn To Water: H20 @ Photoville, and invites your photos to feature in the exhibition. For the portrait photographers out there, David Graham returns to Photoville to teach Great Portraits in 15 Seconds, and curate an exhibition of participants' work. Read on for how to register and submit for each of these opportunities!

Visit our website to pre-register for all the free hands-on workshops (the spots are filling up quickly!), and to mark your calendars for some amazing artist panels and discussions you won't want to miss.!

We are also thrilled to announce a new exhibition - NBC News brings Ann Curry's REPORTING OUR WORLD to Photoville. Our website has a sneak peek of this exhibition, along with all the other 48 exhibitions that are currently being installed!

‘Reporting Our World’ uses photographs to shine a light on domestic and global issues documented by NBC News’ Ann Curry. The images are brought to life utilizing augmented reality technology, connecting Ann Curry’s broadcast journalism with her passion for photography. PhotoShelter, the leader in online portfolio websites and business tools for photographers, will present Luminance at Photoville. During the afternoons of September 26 and 27, PhotoShelter will host six 45-minute talks featuring some of the industry’s top experts and renowned photographers. PhotoShelter’s Luminance talks are known to bring together unique and often divergent perspectives to question the future of image making and the photography industry at large. These panels will continue in that spirit by presenting insights on topics ranging from iPhoneography, to the three-minute photo shoot, to the evolving role of the brick-and-mortar gallery.

WORKSHOP: GREAT PORTRAITS IN 15 SECONDS

David Graham teaches a workshop for anyone that wants to take better portraits whether of friends, family or strangers in the street. Graham is a UK based award-winning portrait photographer who believes anyone can take great portraits in a short time. All portraits taken during the hands-on workshop will be considered for a portrait exhibition curated by David Graham, for the second weekend of Photoville, September 26-29. Register here
