Updates from Ross

Lots have been happening with DAN, and more to come!

Deaf Writers Workshops
Through Deaf Eyes event at Melbourne Writers Festival
Deaf Program at The Other Film Festival
ATOD presenting Silent Monologues

All of the above attracted large mixed audience, even full house shows! Lots of deaf people had the opportunity to see what Deaf Artists have been up to lately. Some Deaf Artists presented their personal stories at 'Through Deaf Eyes', screened films produced by deaf filmmakers at Other Film Festival, and some were acting for ATOD's first presentation of the year, 'Silent Monologues'.

You were updated in one of the previous eNews on DAN's activities since the ADG 2012 in Geelong and onwards, there have been about 10 PROJECTS this year to date, and they have been outstanding!

Deaf Arts Network have been updating its website. Less information, more pictures, better structured and of course, still under construction. Hopefully it is more appealing for you to read. Check it out Deaf Arts Network

Next, we are working towards a new project Butterfly Hands Poem to be presented at Streets Are Alive in Geelong on 10 November. This will be an opportunity for the regions around Geelong to see the poem signed by young deaf & hearing children at the Twilight event. Watch this space!
