Hi. Are you tired of the cold yet?

Me too!

That's why my husband and I spontaneously took our kids to Disney World and stopped by Daytona Beach to soak up the sun this past weekend. I cannot express how wonderful the warmth felt after all the crazy winter weather the southeast United States has been having. It's always nice to get away on the weekends (if you have IPods for each child in the car, with chargers and headphones - oh, and snacks).

However, during the ice storm that mildly hit Savannah recently, I painted and tried to stay warm. "Daydreaming" was a rather carefree, intuitive and "letting go" type of painting experience. I was really just in the moment... and it was windy outside, cold, and grey yet it was beautiful for what it was, and so different feeling from my Wiesbaden memories. I was really going for a type of serenity within the storm feel.
