Learning to pray the prayerbook Collects

In The Book of Common Prayer, each Sunday of the year has a Collect, an Epistle and a Gospel. The Collect is a prayer, often of ancient origin, which we not only pray on that particular Sunday but also on every day of the week following.

The Collect for this past Sunday is in the header of this note.

Let us endeavor to prayer this prayer (and all the Collects) with understanding! To that end, please click here to read a short meditation upon the history and meaning of this prayer.
