Hi there! I only have a few shenanigans to report including the rain I found and my passive-aggression toward the utility companies.

The biggest news is that my husband and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary this weekend. Yowza. I still have this idea that I'm fresh out of college so you can imagine how confused I feel since really, I'm not fresh out of college.

As always, thanks for subscribing and letting me drop by with some extra tips this week. Enjoy!

1. Buffer gets custom scheduling. Yahoo!

One of my favorite social media tools, Buffer (I wrote about Buffer here), has just added a custom scheduling feature. What this means is that you can now schedule individual posts for a particular time, outside your normal buffer schedule. Oh yes. This makes Buffer sweeter than it already is. Read all about it here.

2. Marketing a product or service?

A lot of us bloggers are now selling our own products (like ebooks) or services (like virtual assistance). If that's you (or will be you), do you know about the age-old marketing dilemma, benefits vs. features? It's important to get it right if you want more revenue. Need a good crash or refresher course? I think this article from Forbes does the trick.

3. Surely you are not as neglectful...

I took part in that rather boring ritual we should all participate in regularly and I changed a bunch of my passwords this week. (In one case it had been 2 years. Oops!) Some tips: change them regularly to keep ahead of the hackers and meanies. Consider putting a reminder in your calendar every 3 months or so. A good password has a mix of uppercase, lowercase, symbols and numbers, has not been previously used and is not words or names. Not sure what to use? Try a tool like the Strong Password Generator.

4. I make things more complicated than they should be.

I have no shortage of ideas. They bubble up at a mind-swirling rate. The problem is, most of them never make it out of the idea stage. I was reading Are You Waiting to be Perfect? and this line hit me: "If you don’t start then nothing will happen…. it is that simple." What's an idea you've been meaning to pursue? Why not take 5 minutes out of your day today and just start?

5. The vanishing deal: From Idea to eBook

In case you missed it, Mandi shared 6 Sources of Inspiration for Your (Next) Ebook on the blog this week. In the intro to her guest post, I told you I couldn't resist the $10 deal she's got going on her ecourse. Are you going to take it too? There's still time to get the deal. I explained in paragraph 3 here.

Thanks so much for hanging out!

Amy
