The pastor doing finishing work on the zebra
In spite of the Ugandan rainy season, the church having no roof, and some peeling paint, our mural was finished in the exact amount of time Emilee and Julee Bailey had allowed for their trip to Uganda. It was a lot of fun, hard work and sweat. Many people were involved, and the project turned out more beautiful than any of us even dreamed. Church members were so happy to be involved, and excited that someone came from so far and painted in their unfinished church. It was considered a harbinger of God’s provision to finish the building.
One of the things that stood out to me about this project was the different types of ministries that our visitors bring to us. Some come to preach and some to teach. Some like to build. Julee and Emilee came to paint, to give a thing of beauty and of themselves to the people at New Life Centre Church. And they were loved for it. We all have different giftings. And as someone has said, you can’t ask a bird to swim, nor a fish to fly. We give from the capacities that God has given us.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working but the same God works all of them in all men. Romans 12: 4-6.
