'DRAWING INSPIRATION' by Sarah Hamilton and Gabriela Szulman

PRIVATE VIEW WEDNESDAY 26th MARCH (6 - 9pm)

The next couple of months are shaping up to be really busy, and I very much hope you'll be able to join me to share the FUN! Firstly, on the 26th of March we're having a PRIVATE VIEW at ORSO MAJOR GALLERY in Waterloo for an exhibition of my, and my great friend GABRIELA SZULMAN's artwork entitled 'DRAWING INSPIRATION' (25th March - 4th April). Then, in MAY, (10th - 11th MAY) there's the OPEN HOUSE here in my studio/house in Dulwich. This year I'm thrilled to be joined by cult British brand MINI MODERNS and photographer PAUL CRAIG.

DRAWING INSPIRATION', an exhibition of prints, drawings, paintings, ceramics and jewellery celebrates the creative originality of two Artists, GABRIELA SZULMAN and
SARAH HAMILTON who share a passion for vibrant colour and the fragmentation and reassembly of images. Showcasing work across different media the exhibition gives a narrative to pieces which could otherwise seen unrelated by focussing on the relationship between drawing, painting, and product design.

OPENING TIMES Tues - Fri 11am - 6pm Sat 11am - 3pm

'SZULMAN and HAMILTON regularly work to commission, and their wealth of experiences across disciplines has made their work extremely popular and highly collectable.'
Gita Joshi - curator - ORSO MAJOR GALLERY, 19 Lower Marsh, London, SE1 7RJ

Joyful, fresh and contemporary, with a Mid-Century feel, SARAH HAMILTON's delicate pencil drawings complement her colourful prints and collages. Inspired by a love of natural forms, painters such as Milton Avery and Paul Klee, Folk Art and 1950's design her deceptively simple imagery emerge from sketchbooks and are drawn, hand or digitally printed. Sarah has made numerous private commissions and designed for leading contemporary stores including The Conran Shop, Heal's and Habitat. Her work is often featured in magazines, from Ideal Home to Country Living, and is stocked by many independent stores and galleries.

Drawing on memory and memories, GABRIELA SZULMAN’s work is inspired by family photographs and letters, her grandmother's women's magazines from the 1940s and 50s, technical manuals and illustrated dictionaries among other things. She blends a fusion of painting and digital media – acrylic, watercolour and ink with digital print – onto paper and canvas to create collages, prints, quirky greetings cards and now a range of jewellery with miniature prints under glass. Szulman often works to commission and loves sharing this journey with her clients, whether she is creating a collection of images to complement a specific interior or turning someone else’s precious trove of memorabilia into a unique piece of art.

Paul moves from inside to outside displaying his passion for the urban and the natural landscapes.
