Keeping with Romance, our second city for Globetrotting is Venice Italy

I have NEVER been to Italy and it is seriously on my short list of places to visit.

You'll find that all the cities we visit in Globetrotting are either places I've been or places on my 'short list' to visit.

UFO Selection ((February Challenge))

20140205013357

It is time to challenge yourself in February to BUST a UFO! OR.. at least make some major progress on one.

I've decided to pick a smaller wall hanging that I really love and pick an applique project in progress I REALLY LOVE.

My goal is to quilt the bunny basket quilt I did with Anne Sutton years ago. My other UFO task is to move the Halloween applique project forward by completing a few blocks. This is the project with the HUGE skeleton. I'll blog these in a few days.. I think I'll do some sort of giveaway later this month for people who comment on the challenge post, then comment again at the end of the month on their status. Fun right?.

CLICK HERE to see all my UFO posts, including what I busted in January.. so excited for 2 finishes!

Are you on my Facebook group? LOTS of UFO finishes.. spectaular!

Birthday Blocks

I have sewn the first Birthday block unit together! It is about 30" x 70"..

This is going to be ONE BIG QUILT! I have about 8 more sets of blocks that make up similar sizes... It is so exciting..

You can see I did not go with one color spacer, I used a range of different dot fabrics.

These blocks are two recent additions! I think I only have one more block arriving, hope it is small! Previous blog post CLICK HERE

I MOVED ((sort of))

Pat Sloan Photo a Day Feb 5 2014

I have a small house, we have no basement, we run a business in said small house. My studio is the family room, where I don't have much usable wall space due to sliding doors to the deck, a fire place, window and a whole half wall devoted to getting into the room from the kitchen.

We have been trying to figure out a way utilize the space better. I've been in this room now for 5 yrs (I have worked in every room in the house but the garage.. only Gregg has dared to have his office in there! We won't discuss the mouse that lived with him for awhile)...

ANY.. a few days ago we sketched up a totally different layout and Tues at 2pm started the move. By 6pm the room had been rearranged and computer back online! I still have to get a few things, make curtains.. etc.. but I did 2 videos you can see at my Facebook page HERE or HERE or at Instagram HERE

I will write up a post about it in a few days
