Farmers and Cooks United for a Sustainable Future

beneficiaries web

Welcome to Beyond the Kitchen's first official newsletter. We are so excited. Spring seems to have sprung here in Napa Valley! We have been hard at work getting ready for our premier season and have met a lot of fantastic people along the way. Currently we are working with the local ABC board trying to find a way to incorporate our fine Napa Valley wines into our dinners. California law will not currently allow us to serve alcohol for various reasons (about 246 various reasons), but may allow a Non Profit to come and pour wine if they get the proceeds. What a great way to support our like minded Non Profits like Future Farmers of America and help them fund their endeavors. More on this in our next newsletter.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

We started Beyond the Kitchen to promote Napa Valley local agriculture and agritourism. We are excited to announce that, while working on a complete lineup, we have decided on a limit of 10 farms and 10 wineries. For the farms, we are currently speaking with Rancho Gordo (Napa, CA), Boca Farms (Napa, CA) and Azalea Springs Farm (Calistoga, CA). While several others are on the hit list, these three are the first that have shown interest and we are in the process of working together setting up schedules. We will be posting additional information on Facebook and Twitter as it becomes available. If you have not connected with us on either platform, won't you do so now? Links can be found at the bottom of this newsletter.

GETTING IT STARTED

So, starting a revolution is not cheap. We are hoping to use a newer phenomenon known as crowd funding to help us start this thing off on the right foot. Look out for our "Kick Starter" campaign coming over the next couple weeks that will help us raise the initial capitol to get this beast off the ground. This will be your chance to get in on some pre-release tickets, rare Beyond The Kitchen promotional posters and menus, and some cool swag. We are all about people helping people and are proud to be associate with others that feel the same way.

WRAPPING IT UP

Well, that about wraps up our first newsletter. Short but sweet. I wish I could properly convey the enthusiasm we feel for this opportunity to be better connected to the community and help change the way Americans see food. Please feel free to check us out anytime at Beyond the Kitchen for the low down. We're happy to know you. And, we'll see ya out at the farm!
