Colorado Rural Water System Insufficient for Fighting Wildfire

The Mancos Rural Water system in Southwest Colorado is feeling the effects of fire protection needs on top of drought conditions. Authorities ask residents not to water down homes and lawns. Town says infrastructure is inadequate for fire protection.

"The battle against a wildfire demands many resources. From manpower to equipment, the strength of the fight against a blaze is often measured by the amount of resources dedicated to the campaign.

But what happens when resources required to fight fire are already in short supply?"
