Lake Baikal, Siberia
The Pearl of Siberia - Lake Baikal
The Berkeley-based Center for Safe Energy, a project of the Earth Island Institute, works with grassroots environmental leaders from the former Soviet Union. During the week of February 20-28, the Center for Safe Energy will host a group of 12 ecotourism leaders from Siberia’s Lake Baikal region.
Lake Baikal is the world’s oldest and largest freshwater lake! During their visit to the Bay Area, the group will tour Ano Nuevo State Park, East Bay Regional Parks, and various ecotourism companies and organizations to meet with their counterparts. They’d love to join East Bay Green Tours for one of our Eco tours and are seeking sponsorship. They are also interested in finding host families for the week they are here.
If you or someone you know is interested in offering housing and/or sponsorship, please contact: Melissa Prager, cseprograms@igc.org
