NEWSLETTER LAUNCHED

The LocSig has always been pretty active, but we felt it needed a space where its content could be collected, shown and shared.

A monthly "trade magazine" where we could discuss in a positive, collaborative and (of course) 100% non-promotional fashion.

We hope you will enjoy this first issue of our newsletter and please do share your comments and ideas on the mailing list.

Remember: your voice is not only welcome, it is needed for this group to thrive. Let's begin!

THE COLLABORATIVE GLOSSARY NEEDS YOU

A couple of weeks ago a multilingual game localization glossary, used and shared among developers, was mentioned on the mailing list.

Some discussions ensued, and we decided to create our own. The final goal is to reach top notch quality but, like many other things in the LocSig (this newsletter included!), we would like to get there incrementally, starting small and refining as we go.

As a first experiment, we would like to test online collaboration itself in the purest of forms: an online glossary freely editable to anyone. Slowly or quickly, alone or joining forces with others, you are free to work in any way you like.

The document is here: http://bit.ly/gameglossary

Only three rules to follow:

1. Feel free to share general comments with the mailing list, but please don't swamp it with details. For anything directly related to the glossary itself, please use Googledocs comments feature
2. When you finish editing, please complete our 10 seconds survey at http://bit.ly/gameglossarysurvey
3. Don't be evil :)
