Hello everyone! Just thought I would update you on how things are going with my project. Since we were able to buy the tickets, mom and I are preparing for the trip. Such as getting our suit cases, figuring out what to pack, and getting all our job and school stuff figured out before we leave. We will also be going on a 3 day little trip to Murchison Falls National Park while we are over there. This will be a great experience to see a lot more of Africa's landscape. Not to mention we get to see a giant water fall which will be totally amazing. Everyone in the village is working very hard to get the church walls done in time for our arrival, they are also working on buying the paint that I will be using as well as the base coats to prepare the wall for the project. So big thanks to them!

I am a high school senior at Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop, Washington, planning my senior project in Uganda, East Africa. I will be painting a mural on the walls of a village church, which is under construction, with the help of local church members. Along with the mural, I will be video taping my project and creating a documentary film. The trip will take three weeks, which includes our spring break. We are counting the days till we drive over to Seattle to catch the flight out on March 25th. For the flight we will be going through Belgium then down to Entebbe, Uganda, were my Grandma Margaret will be picking us up.

My grandmother, Margaret Nelson, has been a nurse missionary in Uganda for the past 14 years. By going and working with her on this project, we have been given the opportunity to travel, experience new culture, and learn more about art. She is going to fly home with us in April for her next furlough. Click on her picture to the right to see her interesting website.

For those of you that have donated to my project, thank you so much! I appreciate it enormously. Every dollar donated has helped so much more than you could imagine. For those of you who haven't donated, I would love if you did! We still have some needs for our trip and project. I will send more updates as time goes on . Thanks again.

Please print and fill in the form below and mail your check, payable to Emilee Bailey, with memo to Africa Trip.
