Behind the Curtain - Rebecca Wagner

Rebecca

Our wonderful Board of Directors Chairperson, Rebecca Wagner, has been connected with ClancyWorks for 10 years. Currently working to bring our Silent Auction to life, we are so grateful to have her as part of our team. We hope that you get to know Rebecca just a bit more by reading this interview.

What is your role at ClancyWorks?
I currently serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for ClancyWorks. I had previously served as a board member prior to this role. You can also see me at their performances, receptions, and fundraising events!

What drew you to ClancyWorks?
I began taking class from Adrienne Clancy at a local studio about 10 years ago. She approached me about serving on the board. As a former professional dancer, I had wanted to make dance more a part of of my life. Prior to meeting Adrienne, I had decided that as my parental responsibilities decreased and I became an "empty-nester", I would become more involved in the local dance world. When Adrienne asked me to join the board, I saw this as an opportunity to fulfill that desire and as a nudge out of my comfort zone. Serving as President of the Board of Directors has certainly taken me out of my comfort zone which in turn has led to valuable growth.

What is your favorite ClancyWorks memory?
I had the wonderful opportunity to work and perform with the company last year. I was a guest performer in a new work, "Webmasters", that premiered in Washington, DC, and the UK simultaneously! It was exciting to be part of this unique presentation. It was also great to return to my first love, performing. What an experience that was, leaving me with wonderful memories.
