CAROLINA RAILHAWKS PARTNER WITH ENABLE AMERICA IN SUPPORT OF EMPLOYMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

RALEIGH, NC – May 31, 2013: Furthering their commitment to increase the employment of people with disabilities, the Carolina RailHawks are partnering with Enable America on a promotion that will help support the non-profit organization’s Career Mentoring Day and Job Skills Workshop programs for those who are disabled, including veterans and wounded warriors.

Each time soccer fans purchase tickets online for a RailHawk’s NASL home match through the remainder of the regular season, and use the promotion code ENABLE, a portion of those proceeds will go to Enable America.

“The RailHawks are not only proud to support Enable America, we speak from experience that these programs work,” said Curt Johnson, RailHawks President. “Through our participation in Career Mentoring Days we made several excellent hires for our seasonal staff. We’re happy to further the cause through this new ticket sale promotion.”

With North Carolina operations based in Raleigh, Enable America offers a number of programs throughout the Triangle that build bridges between people with disabilities and employers. Career Mentoring Days provide opportunities for participants to engage in the workplace, combining training with the ability to network in a nurturing environment for both the mentee and employer. Through Job Skills Workshops, human resource professionals provide guidance and support that improve the ability to find meaningful employment in a difficult job market. In addition, Enable America has devoted specialized resources in support of disabled veterans and wounded warriors through its VetConnect program.

“We greatly appreciate the support the RailHawks are giving to the disability community in North Carolina,” said Sandy Moonert, Enable America Program Director. “By engaging in our programs the RailHawks demonstrate what more companies are increasingly learning, that hiring a person with a disability is not charity, but good business.”

Those who want to purchase Carolina RailHawks tickets under this promotion can do so at EnableAmerica.org or the Carolina RailHawks website.

Enable America was founded in 2002, and marked its tenth anniversary last September with expansion of programming into the Washington DC area, including its first mentoring program with a federal agency, the FBI. Companies, agencies, organizations, and individuals who want to participate in Enable America programs can learn more at EnableAmerica.org.
