News from Sauna City. It's been feeling like a sauna here in Norfolk. Sunday the tempereature was 102 and that's not counting the humidity. Our thermostat is set to 72 and although the AC unit tried to keep up, the inside temperature was 78! Miserable. Yesterday and today not as bad but humidity is high and we've had severe thunderstorms and expect more. It's just draining on the energy and the barometric changes provoke migraines.

Wish I could say I'm been getting a lot accomplished but it wouldn't be true. Have been reading A Map Of Time by Felix J. Palmer. It's quite entertaining. Part meta-fiction (fiction about fiction), part science fiction, and part historical fiction. It's a long novel - about 500 pages - so I'm about a third of the way through. Reading it is really prompting me to pick up my writing again. One of my July goals (just set last week lol) is to write 5 pages a week, whether on one of my novels or from journal prompts, or anything really. So far, I'm 7 pages behind!

How has the summer heat been affecting you?

Wonderland Scraps

I did manage to work on a few things for my Wonderland Scraps line and will be loading those tonight. I finished up a kit called Just Peachy which has 12 full sized papers and 28 elements.

And today I packaged up a set of 3 Surf-n-Sun Frames

I just finished a set of 4 stacked border templates in a rock band theme. There's one with singer theme, one for guitar, one for keyboard, and one for drums. I will offer these separately at $2.00 each for those who might want just one, and as a set of four for $6.00. Here is the preview of the complete set of templates:

And to give you a better view of examples of use, I've made two previews. One has the guitar and drums:

The other just the singer and keyboard examples:

I've also made a stacked border template that has flowers and a butterfly:

I've been having so much fun playing with stacked borders, that you will be seeing more of them. If anyone wants to suggest a theme, please do.

Recently I participated in an ATC swap with the theme of steampunk bride. I decided to take one of the nude Cookie bases I have a license for and create my own character. I've gotten so many compliments from friends that I decided to offer her for sale in a steampunk wedding package. It includes my bride, a larger version of her bouquet, a larger version of her geaddress (in layers), a large version of her neclace collar and a frame bases on her collar. Hope someone might have a use for it.

I do welcome your comments, which you can address to quiltwrite2000@yahoo.com with Newsletter in subject line. And now, to thank you for reading my newsletter (as I hope you have) here is your freebie for the week. It's the example of the floral butterfly stacked border template.

You can snag it here:

but remember, it's only available free until next newsletter.

Stay calm, cool, and creative.
