Change is happening all over Canada these days. This past week Finance Minister Jim Flaherty resigned. He has been our Finance Minister since 2006. Alberta Premier, Allison Redford, resigned after a week of controversy. Finally, Quebec is half way through an election campaign which will determine the provinces new government. The province of Quebec is in the midst of an election campaign that will lead to the next government of the province. Key issues on the table for this election include a possible referendum for Quebec to separate from Canada, a charter of values (secularism), Quebec's economy and more.

Last night the four leaders squared off in their first live televised debate.

The election will take place on April 7th, 2014.

In a surprise announcement this week, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty resigned. Minister Flaherty has been the only Finance Minister under Prime Minister Harper's Government and has navigated Canada through the rockiest global economic season in generations.

He will be replaced by the Honourable Joe Oliver.

Please say a prayer of blessing for Minister Flaherty as he enters into his transition and join us in praying for Minister Oliver in his new position.

On Wednesday this past week Alberta's Premier, Allison Redford, announced that she was resigning. Her resignation came in the wake of a week of shakings in her personal caucus.

Please keep Mrs. Redford and her family in prayer at this time.

Please also pray for the province of Alberta as they prepare to choose their next premier.

Thank you so much for all your help with opposing Bill 52 in Quebec which, if passed, would have legalized doctor assisted suicide there. Because of the recent election call in Quebec the bill has, for the time being, died. Please agree with us in prayer that it will not be re-introduced with the new government.
