Eat Your Frog First Thing in the Morning

The popular productivity book Eat That Frog! has been inspiring people to tackle their most important, unpleasant task first thing and get it out of the way for the day since it was published in 2007.

While I don't know that folding laundry is my most important task each day, it is one that tends to plague me throughout the day -- I dislike taking time away from other things to get it done, and yet I think about it all day long.

In recent weeks I've decided to eat my frog and start the day by folding the previous day's clean laundry. It's a great way to get moving for the day when I first wake up, and it gets it done so that I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day (except for the occasional day when I have to do two loads).

This principle applies for work or home: Whether your frog is folding laundry or a daily business task, try eating it first thing in the morning. The relief of not having to think about it all day long is well worth the effort!

A Real Food Journey

I'm a former kitchen dunce, and I'm sharing a little bit about how I learned to cook from scratch, even when I hated my time in the kitchen. (Plus my peanut butter swirl brownies recipe!)

I also shared a few of my strategies for helping my husband and girls transition to real food despite their reluctance to make the changes.

California Pizza Kitchen Guacamole {Copycat Recipe}

My mom has been raving about this California Pizza Kitchen guacamole for months, but I'm not a fan of guacamole and honestly didn't think I would like it. One taste, however, has me hooked, and I see this as a regular addition to holiday get-togethers and parties!
